In the summer we have the perfect location for families, because right outside our house the Märchenweg (fairy tale path) starts with different fairy tale characters to find along the way. There are also slides, climbing walls, a flying fox zipwire and much more. This area will surprise you. Furthermore, you will find exciting destinations, great playgrounds, pastures with petting zoos or just an easy family friendly stop in a rustic hut with views of the beautiful mountain lakes.

Hiking and climbing

Families, mountaineers and hikers can expect a wide range of beautiful hikes, from playful themed trails to high alpine mountain tours, there is something for everyone.
Hiking tours in the vicinity: From the Ursprungalm to the Giglachsee, Höhenweg via the Neudegg to the Giglachsee, over the Wilden Wasser to the Riesachsee, from the Eschachparkplatz to the Duisitzkarsee.
For climbing, there are mostly via ferrata around the Dachstein mountains.

Mountain biking and cycling

Schladming-Dachstein is a popular mountain bike region. There are very well signposted cycling routes for families, pleasure cyclists or more experienced athletes and these routes lead through a varied landscape with unforgettable views. For bikers looking for action, the downhill trails on the Planai are a special highlight.

Swim and relax

Nearby you will find a wide range of swimming pools and bathing lakes for families as well as for connoisseurs.
Here is a small selection on offer: Erlebnisbad Schladming with indoor and outdoor pools, recreational lake Pichl, adventure pool in Haus / Ennstal, bathing lake Ramsau Beach and the spa Amadè.

The Dachstein

The Dachstein is the highest mountain in Styria. There is a lot to do at the Dachstein, for example Skiing, snowboarding, hikes across the glacier, climbing on the Dachstein summit or a mountain hike up to the Gutenberghaus. Plus there are many more hikes, cross-country skiing in the freshly groomed glacier trails or a ski tour to Obertraun.
Enjoy the breathtaking view over the Ennstal from the Skywalk, the thrill on the suspension bridge and the stairs to nowhere or admire the unique sculptures in the Ice Palace.

Perfect for a family holiday

The perfect location for a family holiday as our house is located directly on Märchenweg. The Märchenweg is a lovingly detailed trail telling Fairytales along the way and allowing you to find Fairytale characters along the path. There is also a variety of playground equipment to try out on the path too. There is plenty to discover.
Nearby you will find other themed trails for example the dwarf trail and the mushroom trail. Highly recommended is the Hopsiland the highest playground in Styria, the Waldhäuslalm with petting zoo and a large game area and the Rittisberg in Ramsau.

Excursion destinations and attractions

The Eisriesenwelt in Werfen is the largest ice cave in the world. The entrance to the Eisriesenwelt is by cable car.

Also very worth seeing in Werfen is the castle Hohe Werfen with an impressive falconry display and much more.

Or take a trip to the city of Salzburg with lots of art and culture from Mozart's birthplace to the famous Getreidegasse and Mirabell Gardens.

To the East you can visit Admont Abbey which contains the world's largest monastery library and other excellent museums.

Or a hike on the Wilder Berg in Mautern where you can admire bears, cheetahs and many animals and have a go on some unusual rides.
